The place for becoming a better musician

Giving everybody the tools to understand and write music

YouTube Videos

There is one chord that John Frusciante plays in Under The Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers that always sounded a bit strange and interested me when I started learning music. The Emaj7 to be precise.
And maybe I'm one of the few people who like this chord so much. But in any case, I wanted to share my experience and make a tutorial about it. And if you want to learn more, there are many great Under The Bridge songwriting analyses and tutorials to be found here on YouTube. They teach you everything you need to know (music theory and more).
But I find that most of them pass by on the importance of this one chord. The last chord of the verse. This Emaj7 changes the whole verse and adds all the colours that would be missing otherwise.Watch my song analysis, give Under The Bridge another listen and let me know if you agree (or not)!
